Kouch (Migration)

Set in the breathtaking Zagros Mountains of Southwest Iran, "Kouch" documents the seasonal migration of the proud, ancient Bakhtiari tribe as they face challenges and celebrate daily triumphs in their struggle to maintain their richly textured culture in the face of 21st century encroachments on their practices and traditions.

Harfa

After living in Iran for two and a half years, Fared Shafinury wrote and recorded the song Harfa in the Fall of 2008 in Tehran. Inspired by a long lost love, a grandmother's loss of her husband, the song ends with the famous first verse from "Divan-e Hafez".

We are pleased to announce that the festival committee has extended the deadline of the second annual Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival to Monday February 22, 2010. All submissions received after 11:59 PM on February 22nd will not be part of the festival. 

Music Video should be a short movie or animation that comes with a complete piece of music of any style or genre.

Farhang Foundation and SoCiArts announce the winners of the 2010 Music Video festival. Farhang Foundation will present the awards to the winners on March 14, 2010 at its 2nd Annual NowRuz, Iranian New Year program at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Bahram was born 1952 in the Persian city Kermanshah, in the Kurdish part Iran. Kermanshah is a small city in a beautifully location: surrounded by mountains, rivers and trees, it was therefore also called „the city of the kings“.
