Kasra Saboktakin

Bio: 
Kasra Saboktakin was born in 1976 in Tehran, Iran. He started playing Bass at the age of 17. Within 3 months of picking up his instrument, he played his first underground show with his older brother. He is the Bass player of “O-Hum”, the pioneers of post revolution Iranian underground Rock music. . He is also a founding member of ”Barad”, which was critically acclaimed as one of the most influential Rock bands in Iran. He has also worked with numerous musicians and bands including: Monte Pittman ( Madonna, Adam Lambert, Prong), Anoushirvan Rohani, Kaveh Yaghmaee’s band, Black Lotus, Pejvak, Darkoob, Reza Derakhshani, Hack, Tehran symphonic orchestra, Sara Naini’s quartet, Poetic DiZeaZe and many others. He is also recognized as the most successful Bass guitar instructor in his home country Iran. He has more than 15 years of academic teaching experience. Some of his former students have achieved success among the Iranian music community including: Jamm the Bamm (Hypernova), Alireza Pourasad (127) ,Hamed “Yosheng” Hamidzadeh (Ballgard), Armin Mostaed ( Shahin Najafi’s band, Arian), and many others. In April 2008, he moved to the United States to pursue his musical career in a broader perspective. Since then, he has played and toured with numerous musicians from Los angeles area. He currently lives in Hollywood, California.
