Join us for an afternoon of Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form combining elements
of martial arts, music, and dance! This introductory workshop will be led by Professor
Muito Tempo of Capoeira Batuque and delve into the various rhythms, movements, and
songs found in this traditional art form. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Join artist Leslie K. Gray to make cards and stories for your mother. Leslie will share
her book The Pink Dress, which tells the story of her mother’s teenage years, and then
teach you how to make stamps and printed images that show how special your mother
is to you.

This walk will be led by Carmelo Alvarez, a longtime youth advocate and cultural
programmer with strong roots in MacArthur Park. Carmelo will focus on the various
historic monuments and cultural landmarks found in the area. Come and experience
MacArthur Park’s rich history through the eyes and stories of a local icon.
