Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a screening of Sweet Old Song at Lucy Florence Cultural Center!  The film shares an intertwined tale of love and creativity between artists Howard "Louie Bluie" Armstrong and Barbara Ward. Armstrong performed for most of his nearly 100 years of life, ever since his father carved his first fiddle from a wooden crate. Leah Mahan’s Sweet Old Song plays like one of the ballads that flow effortlessly from the funny and irrepressible Armstrong. His two-decade romance with Ward was a creative partnership yielding new work and an outpouring of memories. Join us at 6:30 for light refreshments and music, followed by the screening at 7:00.
