Saturday December 12 from 2pm to 6pm at the beautiful City Art gallery adjacent to van Nuys airport.

About the Artist:
It is only with the heart one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.   This quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupry in The Little Prince exemplifies the artistry of Poline Shooshani.  Captured on canvas, Poline's visions of the familiar, yet abstract reality, evoke the emotion with which they were created.   Poline's art is founded in the Impressionist tradition of Van Gough with stunningly detailed brush strokes fused to form imagery bursting with rich, vibrant colors.  
Her inspiration is found in nature and to express dreamlike sensations of raw human emotion.  A student of the Persian poet and philosopher Rumi, Poline conceals hidden meanings and messages into her paintings.  The viewer of her art is challenged to find nuance with each exploration into her work.   Born in Iran, Poline came to the United States as a young girl, but never lost her love and appreciation for her rich Persian heritage.
