What:       Lian Ensemble and Chirgilchin Ensemble (master Tuvan throat singers) will take the stage to jam together as well as perform pieces from their new CD collaboration, “The Window ”.

On April 9 a unique concert will take place at The Wild Beast Pavilion on the CalArts campus. Two acclaimed ensembles- The Lian Ensemble (Traditional Persian and Sufism) and Chirgilchin (Master Tuvan throat singers based on Buddhism and Shamanism) will take the stage to jam and perform music from their new CD “The Window.” The two groups collaborated to produce a fusion of Persian classical and Sufi music, coupled with the earth-mystic sounds of Master Tuvan throat singers.  The Window” is being distributed by Lian Records and is available at Amazon.com, iTunes, www.lianrecords.com at Amoeba Music and worldwide at www.theorchard.com.

Lian Ensemble has released nine albums over the past five years, including a live concert album. Each album incorporates different musical styles including classical Persian, jazz, Flamenco Mystical and both original and classic Sufi poetry. “The Window” will be Lian Ensemble’s tenth album.
