Cappeau was asked to write a Christmas poem by a parish priest. It has become a standard modern carol for solo performance with an operatic finish."

My Aunt always played piano at Christmas time, when the family wasn't too large to all fit under one roof. And this often would be my solo song... I'd sing it big and loud... But in the closet, and under my coach's direction... It's not always BIG AND LOUD which is heard the loudest...
