Pop!

An experimental animation approach to FILMFARSI, a genre of overlooked Iranian films from before the Islamic Revolution. Here, Googoosh stars as a drag performer in the cabaret underground of 1965 Tehran.  The musical/music video appropriates lines from these early Googoosh films in order to create a sub-narrative about homosexuality in Iranian culture.  A mixture of camp, melodrama, and, most importantly, music!
