Censorship: Smithsonian's Wayne Clough Speech & Protest in LA

Wayne Clough, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution plays 'Hide/Seek' by censoring activist and artist David Wojnarowicz's "Fire In My Belly". The video was part of a larger exhibit about the artistic contributions of gays and lesbians, but was removed by Clough after pressured from the Catholic League and two unnamed Republicans in Congress. Clough addressed the controversy at the Town Hall LA luncheon while artists protested outside. The protest was against artistic censorship. It was coupled with the recent whitewashing of a mural by Blu on a wall of MOCA.
